We hope you can join us to kick off our annual fundraising campaign on September 13 and 14. The events will bring the community together to celebrate and recognize the incredible work of United Way of Mid Coast Maine (“United Way”), and our funded community partners.
Campaign activities will be held in person and on social media. Events will be held on Wednesday, September 13 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the Skidompha Public Library, 184 Main Street, Damariscotta, and on Thursday, September 14 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at the Orion Performing Arts Center, 50 Republic Avenue, Topsham. Register for events at www.uwmcm.org/kickoff.
Campaign activities will showcase success stories highlighting the incredible difference we make by investing in United Way. From September 13-14, United Way will ask the community to show their support by tagging the organization in posts, photos, and videos on Facebook and Instagram. Keep an eye on United Way of Mid Coast Maine’s social media channels and website for campaign updates and special engagement opportunities.
This campaign season, United Way is asking for the community’s support to help increase participation by spreading the word, building more partnerships, and raising more funds. When you donate to United Way, you are helping your family members, friends, co-workers, and neighbors get the support they need from more than 50 local community programs and initiatives. By working together, we leverage our collective support for the community—a force multiplier—to give kids the best start, build financial stability, and help everyone live healthy and connected lives.
Last year, United Way invested more than $1.025 million into the community through funded community partners and United Way initiatives. The community can support United Way by holding fundraising campaigns in the workplace, within their social networks, and through personal household gifts and special events. United Way is also asking individuals who have retired or changed jobs to consider renewing their pledges. Many people do not realize that their donation stops when they leave the workplace.
